Kubota L3200 HST Recommended WIX Filter/Oil?

Hey guys. New to the forum. I just bought a used (31 hrs) L3200 HST tractor. Planning on doing the first service soon. I use Rotella T6 oil in nearly all of my off road vehicles with the WIX oil filters.

What weight Rotella T6 oil do most recommend? I usually use 5W-40. Would that work well? I'm in North Carolina.

Also, what WIX oil filter part number fits the L3200?

not sure you need thte 5W - that would be fine, T6 is excellent stuff - use it in my two kubotas.

However - go ahead and get the kubota filter......I know it might cost more, but this time it will be worth it!Wix are great filters too

As far as oil weight, my Kubota's state 10w30 for winter and 15w40 for summer use. I have run Rotella 10w30 in all my diesel Kubotas with great results.

Does your Kubota manual show 5w40 as compatible? I'd avoid it if not specifically approved.

Not sure. I'll have to look this evening when I get home. I'd like to use an oil I can run in it all year long. I don't plan on using the tractor enough to justify changing the oil in the summer and then again in the winter. So maybe the 10W-30 T6 would be my best choice.

On the Kubota oil filters...do you buy them online or at your local dealer? What do they usually run ($15-$20 each)?

Messicks, Coleman Equipment, Golden Eagle are all online and I shop between them for the best price. Sometimes shipping or the parts themselves are cheaper at one vs another.

Another point is that they have complete "service kits" available now on Ebay and at most dealers for about $100 you get your air, fuel, oil, and hydro filters. For your $20,000 tractor, spending $100 annually to change all your filters is that ounce of prevention that's worth several pounds of cure down the road....

Just doing oil and oil filter is only part of the picture....

After the first 50 hours on the 3200HST, The transmission oil filter and the hydraulic oil filter need to be replaced. But not the fluid.

If I'm going by a dealer, I buy them there. If not, then mail order from Messicks or other.

I run 5w30 Amsoil year round without any issues. Either weight you mentioned will work fine for you. Lots of owners are using regular 15w40 so just by stepping up to T6 you're already ahead of the game.

Like the others said, I would use Kubota filters. My opinion of Wix is poor, we had some issues with their filters years ago and I wouldn't trust them if they were free, but that's just me.

By the way, I change my oil once a year.

My L3010 WSM says 10w-30 or 10w-40. I run 10w-30 Amsoil heavy duty all year round, change every 100hrs or annually whichever first and stick with Kubota filters.
