I was doing the oil and fuel filter change on my mx 5100 and the ring that holds the filter is not wanting to come loose. Am I turning it the wrong way left is loose right is tight ? any help would be wanted thanks.

As far as I know yes right hand threaded
There are numerous complaints about how tightly the original filters are and how they are painted making them difficult to remove, usually it is the hydraulic filter being discussed though.

What color paint is the current installed filter and what color is the new one.?

You may want to get a good wrench that fits your filter well and try moving it both directions to get it moving

Standing beside the tractor, you need to move the handles of your pliers or wrench from your right to your left (Clockwise).
