OK Guys.... I have to step up and eat some crow on this one:eek:. I tore into the damaged bearings on the spindle and upon cleaning the removed parts I discovered the "hidden" top spindle grease fitting empties into the same cavity as the the exposed grease fitting under the pulley:eek:. Looks like the lower seal let go and the grease just did not get "up" to the upper bearing.

One good think though... crow taste like chicken... Butch:D

Or, how about a concentric slave cylinder? I had a Ford truck with a manual transmission, and the slave cylinger was plastic. It blew two different times, and you had to pull the transfer case and transmission to change it- who came up with the idea of doing away with an external unit? Or making them out of plastic? We can't change how they engineer, we just have to deal with it.
Had the same vehicle and same problem...can't remember the exact charges to replace it but they were extremely high.

Hi all,
I do agree, every time I look at my Kubota mower deck how primitive the design is, it makes me sick.
The plastic belt covers are flimsy, with sign “do not step on” are ridicules, why not to make strong metal one with sign “to be step on”.

They also cover only part of the belt and all the rubbish is picked up and damage $100 overpriced belt.

On my B2410 fuel filter is fitted so badly that after installing new tires and turn steering right, it ripped the filter off and broke the holding bracket. I repaired it and repositioned it 2” back and up.

I had to cut off part of side cover for clearance. You may say it is not a serious issue but it is annoying and should be rectified long time ago.

Regards Frank.

My B2410 is a 1990 model with lower serial number (51330) for the model break in the parts list. My deck is a RCK60-24B with the lower parts break serial number (51330).

Guys I would not trade my 1990 for ANY comperable new Kubota Sub Compact. It is all heavy metal, even the belt covers on the deck. The fenders and hood and motor side covers are twice as heavy as what is on the newer models.

Did Kubota ever self correct the "jerky" power steering on the 24 series and up after the tractor was worked for a while and came up to temperature. If not drop me a post and I can tell you how to fix it yourself. Not hard just a little time consuming.
