Hi, I recently swapped my IH cub loboy 154 with a kubota D640 3cyl diesel and it does not seem powerful enough. Seems like the governor isn't working. I have put a spring on the throttle lever to return it back to idle. Could that be the cause? It fires up and don't smoke but it just bogs down and stalls. Like falls on its face. Idk what could be going on. I do have a electronic fuel pump hooked up to it. Any ideas?

D640 isn't particularly powerful...in some applications they're barely 13hp.

that said, maybe your pump is sticking. Maybe the governor linkage is sticking? Is it running on all 3 cylinders? What's your compression pressure?

It turned out to be running in 2 cylinders. I needed a different fuel system and now it's got power. Do you know the amount of torque they have?

I have never seen a listing for the torque output. I would assume somewhere around 25 lb-ft.
