I got a different type of question for you guys. I got a 3 cylinder D600 Kubota that I am putting into a project. Does anyone know how to go about putting a transmission onto it? I am building a custom golf cart and would like to put a small transmission onto.

The easiest would be finding a mower that has a blown motor and getting the hydrostatic transmission out of it.

G5200 or G6200 would be good candidates.

Beware that the HST xMission in G4200, G5200 and G6200 is connected to the engine via a PROPSHAFT. The xMission is NOT bolted to the engine.

I am not saying this will not work.... I am just pointing it out.

This is true... technically I can't think of any of the smaller tractors that have a direct coupled transmission, I do believe all of them are remote.

Older tractors used a clutch then the clutch drove the transmission, the newer HST models did away with the clutch housing and either run the propeller shaft off the front crankshaft of the engine or off the rear of the via the flywheel.

Some Wheel Horse tractors have the Eaton 1100. Same HST pump found in the the HST G garden tractors. I believe it is belt driven in these?

Didnt know the rear end in the G was called the xMission either. Interesting.
