After a full rebuild the engine would start then cut out, and air would be in the fuel rail. Lots more cranking and the same would happen. I took off the diesel rail pipes and cranked the engine and bubbles were coming out of the injector inlet, obviously feeding "air" back into the rail.
I even swapped the injector pump from another engine, but same problem.
I assumed bad injectors from sitting around while engine work was being done.
Bought and installed new injectors but same thing happening, but one is particularly bad, with puffs of exhaust.
What's going on here?
