I was doing a little digging around online and was doing some research on Kubota's engine mostly the 3-4 cylinder engines. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of Injection system was on the D950 3 Cyl. whether it was Direct Injection or Indirect Injection. and also if anyone knew what kind of air filter was on the tractor if it was that special Cyclonic Action filter or what kind it was considered. also was wondering if it was possible to put some kind of fuel shut off solenoid on it instead of just the old fashioned engine kill knob that you pull out.

I am in process of doing just that with the stop mechanism.
I have the stop parts from a D850 genny that i used the engine from but not the engine stop solanoid and aux linkage parts that go with it.
just need a few more spare hours to fit it all.

D950 is Indirect Injection, Standard cartridge air filter no oil, Yes some D950's came with provisions for the stop solenoid, I use the kind that has 2 internal coils (one pull and one hold), they are fairly cheap and are very easy to wire in without any extra electronics. I put my D950 in a B7100 HST.

Wolfman, do you have any part numbers, pictures, or descriptions of the coil you used on the B7100? I'd like to do that on my B9200.

It's a pull type, so it will mount facing the rear in front of the injector pump, so when it's energized it pulls the fuel stop open and de-energized it closes the fuel.
3 wires one is ground, 1 wire is pull in coil goes to the starter solenoid wire, other wire is the hold coil, it's wired into the key on position.
I had to put a diode inline on the hold open coil, but that might have been because of my after market alternator feeding it power, and holding it open with key off.

Thanks for the pics, and the info Ill be looking forward to getting rid of the damn stop cable, the cable mechanism is so classic old, dont get me wrong i like old, but ive actually had the cable freeze before and had to heat it up with a blow dryer to make it work. to go back into the on position. anyone got any cool auxliliary light set ups? I was looking at getting one of those canopies with the radio and lights built into it.

Jacobson used the D950 in a number of their mowers and they had a shut off solenoid that connected directly to the shut off lever, I don't have a part number but pretty sure with some searching you could find one. Good luck.
