o what exactly is wrong with the one I have? besides the casing is broken. Is there a gear that goes on the bottom to drive the top one? If so do you think it is possible to get any thick gear and make it work or dose it have to have a certain weight to it.
And inside the reverser is supposed to be full of grease or oil, correct?
Yes there is a gear that would go on the bottom of that case and mate up to the top gear.
That gear is specific to that case and reverser design.

It would have to have the exact number and size of:
External teeth and pitch
External diameter to mate to the second gear
Internal female splines that match the existing PTO on the B6000.
Exact width with provisions for races for seals on both the front and rear of the case.

Also all of this would require you to have the rest of the case and to be able to repair the case.

It is not viable in any shape of form to even think about repairing / rebuilding that reverser!

This is your best option as they are US based:

The other reverser will work too, they are just not in the US and you will pay dearly to even get the part!

Now to the logistics of this endeavor!
Most likely the rotovator broke the case because it's way too big for that tractor!
That model rotovator is made for a 33+ HP tractor, you have an 11 hp tractor.
It will continue to put way too much strain on the PTO and it's very libel to break other parts inside the transmission, and that gets really pricey to repair!

I would keep the rotovator and get a much larger, L tractor to run it behind.
None of those tractors require a Reverser or Adapter, it would be a straight bolt on operation!

For the ~$1000 it's going to cost you to get a reverser, you could get the right rototiller that would fit it, or you could get a walk behind with way more HP and bite.

ok, so sounds like that tiller is not made for that tractor, with all this being said, if I wanted to get a post hole digger, a small backhoe attachment, or a mower of some kind,
#1 do they make them for this tractor? (I seen post hole diggers).
#2 do I need a reverser?
#3 what attachments can I get without a reverser?

for $800-$1,000 it’s going to be a while before I get one if needed.

I’d rather have the correct attachments as I want to limit things breaking because you all know parts for this are getting hard to find.

I wonder if that’s why the original trans is stuck in gear?
rusted in gear or a gear finally broke and pinched something inside and I can’t get the shifter to move

They made very few model specific attachments for the B6000.

Almost any attachment that was made for other small tractor makes and models will require you to have a PTO reverser.
They did make a BH that would fit it, but that option is incredibly rare to find for sale.
I don't know of a Post hole digger that will run off of reverse rotation.
Same with all of the three point mower decks.

Focus on small drag or three point non PTO Implements.
Like blades and drags.
Or options where they are powered off of a separate motor.

I know I sound like "Captain Buzz Kill" but it's the reality of that model.

There could be multiple reasons why it won't go into 4wd.
Start with, does the engagement lever move?

It'd probably cost more is shipping than the $1000 to buy it. yes, it does, start,run,stop,hydraulics OK and PTO is 'normal'.

You'll need a reverser for EVERYTHING 'PTO' driven.

I bet the SHOCK of the tiller is what too out the reverser and that SHOCK did 'something' inside the tranny.

@Luperjosh you probably could reverse engineer the pto reverser and have one built since you have the original case and one gear. The case you have might be salvageable but it looked pretty wrecked to me and NorthIdahoWolfman (NIW) agrees. But looking back at the pictures I have a few questions
What is the part that has the internal (female) spline attached to? Is that the other half of the reverser minus a gear? Is it attached to the output shaft of the tractor PTO on the rear of the tractor?

Does the gear in the case rotate at all (turn the pto shaft by hand to see)?

The case could be milled out of solid steel or a fabricated box to put the bearings and seals in. The input and output shafts possibly reused or duplicated new. The existing gear used or matched with new. The missing gear diameter could be determined from the existing gear and case and the number of teeth calculated to give the 540 RPM output required (if the input speed is already 540 from the tractor then the two gears would have the same number of teeth if they were same diameter)

This could become completely unaffordable unless you have a good machine shop to work with or you can do it yourself. But it may be less than $1000 if most of the parts are salvaged from the original reverser.

Somewhere on here someone showed a picture of an open chain drive reverser. I’ll try to locate that thread and post a link.

Here is the thing I recalled

it was not exactly a pto reverser but could be used as a concept for one. There is a link to the original post on another website in one of the posts.

Also NIW mentions that the B6000 does not have a 540 RPM PTO output speed.

the last post describes how the original device works

The pto reverser is a basket case, and new ones are out the budget. That means 'No PTO 3pt Implements' for you. Like wolfman said, all the drag type stuff is still possible, as long as you can pull it with 2wd traction levels. So uhh, maybe just get a landscape rake? Back blade maybe, box blade no unless you just never let it fill up and never use rippers. Can certainly pull a self-powered mower/cutter like ATVs use.

Backhoe is actually a maybe but outside of 1 in a 1000 deals it's WAY outside the budget. But a backhoe does not need to be powered by your pto. You have an onboard pump, you may have a loader pump. I just took a B670 backhoe on a B6100 tractor and changed it from running on a PTO pump to running off the loader pump. But these are small and somewhat limited backhoes by most standards. Still a cool thing to have. Also worth more than a PTO reverser in most cases.

That 4x4 trans looks like you've got nothing to lose by tearing into it, but be prepared for a painful learning curve. It may end up not being feasible to repair it depending on the extent of the rust/damage.

You all have been great! I’m learning as I go. With this, I’m entry level tractor owner. I have no idea of some things y’all have said but worth googling.

im not aftraid of tearing into the transmission, that’s how I learn. I know more about turning wrenches than I do my tractor, I thought my self stuff by tryin my self and messing up. Honestly I’ll probably be back here again asking about the transmission lol

I think I have given upon the reverser, too much to buy one. I don’t own a farm, not even 1 acer. I have a tractor I just want to use it to tbe best ability I can. I’ll stick with an old walk behind tiller. For$1,000 I can put a down payment On a used mini Hoe.

I do think the simplest Chinese mini-excavators are probably a better overall value than a lot of the smaller tractor backhoes. You don't need much property at all to find a lot of uses for one of those things either.

Post pic of the loader you have some time!

anyone have the part number for the hydraulic rubber belt? Mine popped today and tractor is stuck in the rain bucket burred in the ground. I’m gonna buy the fan belt as well

yes it’s an external pump driven by a rubber belt like the fan belt, belt breaks loader don’t move. I’ll send pics today of what I’m talking about and the whole tractor. I know I been hearing some of y’all want to see it
