Starter will not function, getting power to starter, dash lights go out when I turn key. Been back to dealer twice with problem. Dealer has checked connections, has remoted dash panel and "cleaned" conections. Suspect one of the " safety" connections needs more cleaning. W here are they? Other ideas? Dealer bypassed safety switches and started tractor but would not tell me what he did . How do I bypass the safety switches? Or is there something else I should do to solve problem?

Sounds like a bad ground or battery connection, but if you've had it to the dealer twice already for the same fault, I would be taking it back and demand they fix it properly, gratis.

I think the B5200 only had a safety switch at the clutch peddle, but I could be wrong.
I agree, the dealer should be fixing the problem. You've already paid him!

Thanks guys, for the replies. Problem with taking it back to dealer is that each time I do this, it costs me ca. 100 bucks for travel. Probably will have to. I do appreciate your help.

Neutral safety switch, left side right above your toe.
Jump the 2 wires together, if problem goes away, buy a new switch.

Update.
Did get one of their mechanics to make a house call. He tested the alternator and said it was only putting out 11.5 amps, said our battery wasn't able to take a full charge at that level. Recommended a new alternator and battery. I put my charger on the battery (5yo) and it showed full charge. I will put a new battery on it and see if problem goes away. Thanks wolfman for your suggestion. I will give that a try if problem continues. Not sure about purchase of new alternator. This site is really great for info.
