Kubota B4572 Backhoe Major Maintenance

It’s time to give the backhoe some overdue maintenance. Swing and stabilizer cylinders are leaking and hoses are old and frayed. Some movements are jerky and the lower pivot zerk is hard to grease.

I believe this bh was made by Woods. Very similar to their BH6500. Swing is a double sided cylinder with chains to move the pivot.

I am stuck trying to replace the pivot bearings. The upper won’t separate. Any idea how to get this off? It slides easily, but hits the hose holder, that rod with the two horns.

Cylinder rebuild is pretty straightforward, thanks to posts here and you tube I got the square wire out. Made a tool from scrap steel and a 1/4” bolt.

Swing cylinder had me scratching my head until I realized it was just bolted in on each side, easy to see once stabilizer cylinders are removed.

Cut it off and then weld it back? I’m thinking of trying to bend it first, but I need at least an inch.
