Need help. My Kubota holds about 4 gallons of hydraulic fluid. If I put the 4 gallons in, within a few days 1 gallon of it will leak out between the rear wheels and three point hitch area. That's even if I don't use the tractor,.it's just sitting there the whole time. No more will leak out, just that 1 gallon. Still operates fine on the 3 gallons, but would like to know where that 1 gallon is coming out from? Thanks for any help.

Why 4 gallons?
Is that just a random number you came up with?
Are you looking at the level that you filled the case to?

TADA! AI strikes again.

While yes the total system amount is "book" stated as 4 gallons.
You will never get all 4 gallons out when you drain it.
So filling it to 4 gallons will overfill the system.
You need to follow the OPS or WSM manuals on how to properly fill and check the fluid level.
The OPS and WSM will also show you where to drain the system, there could be as many as 6 drain point and not just one drain point.
You need to go by the dip stick and not the book valve.

Even AI was trying to point that out that there is a procedure to refilling it and not just dumping 4 gallons into it.

Yeah I'm aware of that, I fill to the fill line on the dipstick. After a few days of no use of tractor, I see the puddle under the rear of the tractor, it's not showing anything on dipstick then. when I refill to fill line it takes about a gallon then. There must be a crack or some open hole up high allowing a gallon to leak out.

Well your going to have to narrow it down to where exactly it's leaking.
We are not going to be able to tell you exactly where it's leaking without more info.

Curious, did you used to fight fires or start them?

If it was fighting fires then you should be able to understand that the more info you give the better the understanding of the situation will be.

If someone called the fire department and yelled "There's a fire over here, get here quick" and that was all the info they gave, it kind of left you guessing about a whole lot of info.

But if that same person called and said "we have a 20 story high rise on fire with 40 people trapped on upper floors", you're going to have a way better understanding of what' the situation will involve.

Now if it was starting fires...
Well then carry on. o_O🤣
