Kubota B 40 C rototiller operating speed

Found this old girl and brought her home. I asked the fellow selling it the operating speed of the tiller. Why sure
he raises the tiller and runs it in all three speeds.
I would like to know what operating speed the factory set for the tiller if anyone has one. The oil in the gearbox looks fine but the oil in the chain drive cover looks tired and on the wet side. they do not make 80-90 anymore

I really don't quite understand your question. Run your tractor RPM at whatever is required for 540 RPM at the PTO and you'll be fine. You can buy 80W-90 gear oil at any auto supply store, Walmart, TSC, etc.
That's a nice old tiller! Wish I could run across one.

Sorry dave I have an older cub cadet tiller with its own motor was looking for 00 gear oil for it. no one understood or could not find it. It is almost grease but still classified and gear oil Thank you for the response. Going to try the 540 and see how that goes.

Google "00 gear lube" and you'll find plenty of places to order it online or find it in a local place.

Thank you still looking for the rpm speed for the tiller. The engine trans manual for the B7100 manual says never use pto speed 2 and 3 except when following the implement instructions. Still looking for that one.

So far the only thing I have found is for the B7100 pto rpm never use the 2 and 3 speeds except when specified by the implement instructions B 40 C ??

Ok problem solved Someone on epay has a copy of the Kubota B40C tiller. in the photo's it shows the speed 540 RPM Will be here by the 19 LOL from Buffalo to Pgh. Well at least it should have part numbers
