I READ OLD FOCRUM POSTS AND FOUND OUT THERE ARE 3 SAFETY SWITCHES THAT NEED TO BE CLOSED TO ENABLE POWER FROM KEY . CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED ON B-1700 AND SHOULD I MEASURE FOR CONTIUITY, OR SOMEHOW MEASURE 12 V. I HAVE ONLY OWNED TRACTOR A SHORT TIME. THE ORIGINAL KEY SWITCH PHYSICALLY TURNED HARD, SO I REPLACED WORN OUT SWITCH WITH A BRAND NEW SWITCH, WHICH WORKS FINE. I HAVE A WSM REPAIR MANUAL FOR THE TRACTOR, BUT THERE ARE NOT MANY DIAGRAMS. I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE HELP FROM ANYONE!!!

I can't tell you the physical locations on your tractor but the PTO needs to be off, you need to be sitting in the seat, and you need to depress the clutch. It may have a neutral switch as well.

thanks for help. I found 3 switches. Pto, hydro neutral, and clutch switch. The neutral switch is under the seat, and seemed to move kinda hard. I oiled the mechaniical linkage and it moved easier. Next I hooked meter to unhooked solenoid wire. I read 10.5 volts to ground, when I turned new key switch to start position. Next I reattached solenoid wire, sat my ancient arse on the seat, depressed clutch and was thrilled when tractor started with key. thank you for help and support. vt.shane
