Well my 3 point is jumping and I figured i'd post what I have done so far and see any suggestions. Tractor is a L2200. I took cylinder and piston out and cleaned piston with some 1k grit smoothing the scored edges, the cylinders bore was rough so I honed it out as best as I could. I put it together with the seals that were on it and same thing jumping up and down. So tomorrow I am going to get a new o-ring. Someone told me it could be the adjustment on that cover but i'm not sure how that would affect it or what i'd need to repair it. Any sugeestions?

"jumping" can mean many things.

When I think of erratic lift arm movement, I think that the valve may be the issue.

The piston and seal would give some buffering effect as the cylinder volume filled and "leaked".

Even a poor seal there should not result in a jerky motion.

Well it starts going down slowly and then after it goes a little its like its bleeding off and jumps up again trying to correct itself. the piston has scored marks and cylinder bore was pretty bad but looks a millions times better after clean up. The axle seal was out (fixed now) so it has been ran low on hydraulic fluid numerous times for sure. I brush hogged a couple acres the other day and it kept having to jump back up due to bleeding off with the weight on it. Other than this the tractor is great and will soon have a loader on it.

Is the picture of the cylinder before or after honing?
If it's after, or still was pitted that bad after, then you will need to do way more for it to work right.
The scratches on the piston are not that big of a deal because it only seals at the O-ring.

With it leaking down the feed back circuit will be near to impossible to adjust and get right.
Yes you could still have a valve issue, especially if the insides are as pitted as the cylinder.

yes that is after the extreme honing. it looks worse than it is. there are only 4-5 spaced out pits that you can feel. the rest is just surface that you can run a nail on and not notice.

Ahh!

The jumping after a slow descent is the hysteresis of the draft control!

That makes sense. The piston /valve leaks fluid, the lever arms descend and then the draft control kicks in to bring the implement back up to height.

A leaking piston due to cylinder wall condition. as suggested by NIW, is likely considering the pics. A leaky control valve is high on the list of probable causes.

Where is the Control valve if a new seal doesn't fix the problem?

look at the parts view that includes the control lever. The valve is not in this image.

Well it's not in that pic.
I'm not exactly sure on your model where your control valve is located, if it's not under the cover attached to it, then it will most likely be located on the right hand side. ;)

The BX is a unique critter in many ways. The three point control valve is mounted to the left of the three point cover.

Yes it's a L2200 Grey market. 4 speed pto, 8 speed with the high/low and a 2 speed hi/low rearend. It has gears for days. I love the tractor, a little challenging to get parts for but the whole rearend assembly is much larger than a L225.

It is fixed! I took it to a hydraulics shop this morning they said to dump the oring and go to a sleeve oring that is 3/8" wide and ribbed with an inner rubber liner but it was a little too wide to fit the piston so I stopped by my buddies machine shop and we used his lathe and knocked off just enough for it to fit onto the piston and re-honed the bore and I got home stuck it together and it works better than any other 3 point I have used even our really nice john deere 1050. needless to say I am a very happy camper. Now my last thing to do is build a loader and get it stuck together! :)

I'd like to see a pic or drawing of one of those.
