Hi there, I have a Kubota 1613ss that boggs under load. I've changed the fuel filter, hydraulic fluid and filter with no changes in behaviour.

It will start to bog down then be fine for a minute then bog again... Over and over

If I run it for an hour or two it does seem to work better

Any help is greatly appreciated

Did you check the water separator?
It's before the filter.
Have you drained the bottom of the tank? There is a valve for that on it.
It could be the electric fuel pump failing.
Remove the line to the Injection pump and check for flow with key on.

FYI: Can possibly give you better answers if you give me the serial number.
As there is not a KX161-3SS.
There is a
KX161-3
Kx161-3S
Kx161-3ST
And the fuel system is different between all those models.

Chech the fuel hose connection fittings at the water separator. I have had several cause that problem. If you can turn the fittings by hand, it's probably sucking air. They can be sealed temporarily with JB weld.

I'll go try that right now.

Thanks, got to love Kubota's inconsistency with product names and documentation names.
So it's a KX161-3S for parts and build info.
And as Rentthis said, that style of separator is know to have loose fitting on it, so check that too.

My M59 TLB bogs down when I am in high gear trying to push and lift a 5 ton load. When I stop pushing and lifting the engine recovers and it works better. When I'm not lugging the engine it works good. Does this sound familiar?
