I am looking to buy either B2601 @ 0% for 72 months, or the LX2610 @ 0% for 84 months. When I do the math, the KTAC insurance comes out to be $1.40 per thousand on the LX2610, and $1.33 per thousand on the B2601. What gives with the different rates? I thought KTAC had a set rate of $1.30 per thousand. Is it me, or does this seem a little sketchy?

Sounds like a normal insurance rating to me. Where did you get the $1.30 per thousand figure from?

$1.30 is the standard figure used in several threads and one dealer video. Reportedly it is a set rate. Of course, I don't know this for a fact, but am hopeful someone with knowledge about KTAC can pipe in. If it fluctuates, that's one thing. But if it is a set rate, the dealer is obviously padding the bill.

The coverage period (months financed) is different; the LX is an additional year.. Did you compensate for this?

The LX is a more expensive model, maybe that plays into the differance?
Or they raised rates?

I did compensate for the additional year. However, I discovered a miscalculation on my part. When re-calculated correctly, the KTAC does indeed figure out to $1.30 per thousand (of the actual equipment cost). My bad, but perhaps this will reassure others who want to estimate their insurance cost.

You don't have to go with KTAC. I got about 1/3rd less price and a bit better coverage (fewer but fors) with Travelers. Kubota finance just wants the unit insured.

I'm not advocating or promoting for KTAC, But does your policy cover all of this, most don't, and they only cover you at home.

But surely we should be talking about the tractor you're buying, not the cost of the insurance?

What are you doing with it? Surely you need an L2502, or maybe a Grand-L, or perhaps an MX is really the right tractor for you? ;-)
