I've run into a problem while troubleshooting the electrical on my L2250. The Key Stop Solenoid is not functioning. So I pull out my trusty WSM for the wiring schematic. I have a Key Stop Timer relay with only 3 terminals, while the WSM clearly shows 4 terminals. It shows troubleshooting steps as well as wiring diagram. I've looked for alternate schematics with no luck. Hopefully someone here can shed a little light on this issue.

There's a bunch of ozone and cloud of dust between me and your tractor but I might try troubleshooting with the idea relay might use it's mounting to chassis of tractor as ground (4th wire in schematic). How to go about that? Remove relay, sand areas where relay and chassis touch, remount and tighten securely.

What are the colors of the 3 wires?

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately the enclosure is all plastic.

The colors are black, red and blue. I've attached a pic. No markings on the relay at all. Also I checked another nearby l2250 and it has the same 3 wire connection. Seems to rule out somebody switching out the relay.

hmm, 'historically', in some circles, Black would be ground, Red would be +12 from somewhere, and Blue would go to whatever needed 'switched' power.
What's interesting to me is that the white connector on the harness appears to have 4 'poles', and the 'adapter cable only has 3.

See what color the three wires are in the connector on the wiring harness that this box plugs into. I suspect they will be White, Green, and Black.
I suspect that is the Flasher unit.
The timer should have a 4-wire connector on the harness which plugs directly into it. It should also have a metal tab on its top that bolts to the frame behind the dash.

It sure looks like that you're looking at the hazard unit?

Indeed enclosure is all plastic but mounting tab is metal. Must I say "Remove relay, sand areas where relay TAB and chassis touch, remount and tighten securely"?

The metal tab just snaps onto the plastic body, it is not a ground.

I think your key stop timer relay should look like this
