Joystick button issue

Good afternoon,
I'm a new member just starting today and I have a problem that I can't seem to figure out. I have a kubota M7040SU. It has the third valve, for a grapple. On the joystick I have 2 buttons, the button on the top does not function. It has been working great for many years but yesterday I found I could open the grapple but I could not close the grapple with the top button. What should I be looking for to solve this issue?
On the hydraulic third valve solenoid, There are a plastic nut on each end. In the center of each nut is a little brass button, that I can push in on both sides. But when I start the tractor only one button pops out. Could it be crud inside the solenoid? Or should I be looking for an electrical problem in the wiring from the button on the joystick to the solenoid? I don't if the included pictures will help but I figured what the heck.

I'm completely stumped!

Sounds like the solenoid is gummed up. Might just check the joy stick button with a multi meter to make sure it’s actually sending the signal.

It's very unlikely to be crud in the solenoids, they work with magnetism not movement.
It could be as simple as a quick disconnect that is not seated properly.
Disconnect and reconnect.
Aside from that it's next likely candidate is a switch, wiring or solenoid issue.

1st step. get the actual wiring diagram of your grapple solenoid setup.......

A simple test light is the easiest for testing things like this.

Here's an update on the progress....
Electric is good. Problem is in the solenoid, one end is not moving to allow fluid to flow.
Can the solenoid be opened in place or do I have to remove, ugh?

hmm, if the solenoids were 'industrial' grade, you could swap the solenoid coils and see what happens.
If the original solenoid still fails, it's a 'mechanical' issue NOT electrical.
Install/owners manual for the unit should have part numbers/diagrams of what's 'field replaceable'.

I don’t know the part numbers, but within the last few months there was a thread hereon in which the manufacturer of the buttons and that manufacturer’s part numbers were discussed. I think it was for the Land Pride joy stick handle. Hopefully someone that saw this will recall the tread more exactly.

Maybe search for the word button and joystick or third function, or similar.
