Anyone familiar with one of these, either own or use one? Here's an older article of a guy who bought two and shows them. They were originally built by Olathe Equipment (up the road about 20 miles) and I found one hiding in a barn. Just don't know if I need another project, 'cause I'm sure it needs something.

I figure they are strong enough I might be able to use it to blow snow! We've only had three events totaling about 6" all winter.

I ran one like it growing up on a golf course. Worked great blowing leaves and pine straw normally ran it with a 1194 Case or either Massey Ferguson 240 they both drank the fuel because of the load it create.

That one looks very similar to my older AgriMetal PTO blower. They're pretty simple in design. The tractor pto drives a pulley belt reduction system....or in this case it multiplies the rpms to the blower's fan.
Under that front cover would be either a two or most likely a 3 belt pulley system. One set on the end of the pto driveshaft and the other mounted on the shaft of the blower fan.

On mine, the bearings are greaseable self-centering pillow block style bearings on both shafts. If that machine needed anything it would be nothing you couldn't easily replace. Unless the main shafts have worn in the bearing locations...but that would be odd. Other than that it would be replacing old belts, or driveling U-joints if not maintained properly.

In 30 yrs of use with mine....the AgriMetal has seen no repairs necessary.

A new paint job on that one might be all it needs?

I've never tried blowing snow with mine. But if the snow was fresh and not too wet it could definitely work.
You just have to watch out for the wife's laundry hanging on the clothesline when you decide to dust off the concrete slab or blow the leaves off the gravel drive and approaches!! :ROFLMAO:

Olathe Equipment engineered and built quite a few commercial quality implements. I've got one of their sweepers. It's a 3 pt version of this one.
