Want to get some input on jacking up a tractor. In the manual it shows lift point on the axle but the axle is so short that you don't have room to put the jack stand in once you have it jacked up. In fact it is a pain just getting the jack in there. On the B2650 can you jack/lift from the middle, say the draw bar area, then put the jack stands on the axles? Has anyone used a handyman hilift jack on the draw bar? Don't know if there is enough room to get one of those jacks in there with the cab and 3pt stuff.

I'd advise against using a highlift jack on the drawbar. It would be pretty unstable. They can also whack you in the jaw if one of the pins sticks. If you aren't working on the wheels (but you probably are) you could just block under the wheels. If your going to be lifting in the rear center, you should block the front axle so that it can't pivot or take other measures to keep it from tipping over. A floor jack would be my preference if you've got one that can lift high enough, but that may be because I still hold a grudge against the high lift jack.

I use a floor jack to raise the rear, at the center of the draw bar. First I lower the FEL all the way to the ground and place the joy stick in the center position. Then, I lift the rear of the tractor and place wood blocks under the axle and lower the jack until the axle is on the wood blocks. I leave the jack in place with just a little pressure on the axle. The FEL helps stabilize the the tractor from falling off the jacks or wood blocks.

Now if I am just working on the front and need to raise it, I just use the FEL to keep it up. If I need to crawl under the tractor to change a filter or lube something then I put wheel ramps under the front wheels and let it rest on the ramps and also keep some pressure on the FEL for added stability.

I would stay away from the Hylift jack for this application. You are jacking up something that will pivot at both ends; never works.
I use a floor jack under the drawbar attachment with a block of wood between. Never jack with flat metal on flat metal, too easy to slide off. This arrangement will also pivot if you don't move the jack around and find the balance point. This is only stable enough the get the jack stands under and then remove jack.
Also never jack higher than necessary. I keep the rear wheels within 1" of the ground or blocks of wood at all times. If the tractor was to tilt the tire will rest on the blocks on not tilt and slide off the jack. Jeff

Thanks, wanted to confirm that the manual was not the only lift point authority. So far my objective is to raise it a minimal amount so will probably use bottle jack with wood block in draw bar vecenity just enough to get the Jack stands positioned. Raising it from the axle was a pain.
