Not directly, but three natural gas pipelines from Pennsylvania to NY/NJ are being shut down. Without those pipelines the cost of natural gas in those areas will double this winter. It is not specific to a pipeline from Canada, but does add significantly to the oncoming energy shortage with no plan in place to replace that energy before it is cut off.

These are the same people who are already affected by a shortage of electricity because the Indian Point nuclear plant was closed before any alternative source of power was created.

Canadian oil is sent to refineries on the gulf coast and exported. It is being done by rail in lieu of a pipeline. It does not significantly impact energy in the US. Do some research on this.

I'm sorry if I was not clear. I never said that the pipelines in Pennsylvania have anything to do with the Canadian pipeline. My point is that we are cutting off the use of fossil fuels before we have a realistic alternative and that will cause higher prices and shortages.

I am confused... I read gas/diesel prices are to high but yet the leaders want to choke off imports from the largest supplier.

I don't see how we get to "Green" energy in the common house without increasing nuclear facilities. No way no how, unless China's new Sun power is the new Source of Our energy usage. People want to blame cows for their methane... but the Rockets going into space, and EPA crickets. By the way, some talk of Lithium mines in our state is coming. I'm sure it will be great for the environment. Because isn't that the reason for all of this? Nobody talks cradle to grave. I am sure an equipment operator somewhere can tell you about all of the "green" trash he just buried.

Which is why we need to discuss expenses like gas. Gas prices are going to continue to go up unless there is a shift in the current thinking. And yes, to discuss that the folks that are currently making the decisions will come up.

It’s impossible for Admins to be completely fair all of the time. I understand that. Saying let’s go brandon, a phrase that most people don’t even understand, is not overtly political, so in this case, I think that a 2 week ban was a little heavy handed with zero warning. Yes, they can do it, but at some point, people realize what they are doing and they’ll lose half of their users. I think that implies that particular Admin’s leanings, but again that could be an unfair statement since I don’t hang out there.
