As I continue to wait (and wait some more) for my L2501 to be ready...I am thinking of pre-ordering a Tooth Bar to avoid waiting another 2-4 months of lead time for the bar to ship after the tractor gets here.
My question is for the standard 60" pin-on bucket, how much does the interior bucket dimensions vary from tractor to tractor?
Would some of you L2501 owners with 60" buckets mind taking a measurement of your bucket (5" from front edge, 2" from bottom) so I can better judge the risks of pre-ordering?
Thanks for the help!

I called EA asking the sane question. They said to wait for the bucket because they can very by as much as 1/2" or more.

BXpanded said the same thing...get the bucket first, then measure & order.
I was going to further push the issue by asking if they could just send me the standard ~59" tooth bar with side bar brackets loose...I would mount the brackets to the bucket, then weld the bar to the brackets...
Kind of felt half-assed...so I guess I just wait like the rest of us...just no getting around the extended lead times of all these suppliers!

I find it hard to believe that Kubota would/could have randomly a 1/2" difference in a series of buckets.
It.d be nice for owners to post their buckets inside widths.

I ordered a Wicked tooth bar on May 12th and this is the information I submitted using their form. This is for the 72" heavy duty round bucket. Looking at the way mine is made and the dimensions below I doubt that these dimensions vary much at all from bucket to bucket.

Even if the tooth bar is 1/2" short, just make up the difference with some washers. That is what I had happened when I ordered my tooth bar 15+ years ago, and it never caused me any grief. I sent the manufacturer the exact measurement, and they subtracted 1/2" from that measurement, and sent the bolts with extra washers. It also made it a lot easier to install, since it wasn't tight the the sides. Ask the manufacturer if you send them the exact inside measurement, what measurement do they manufacture the tooth bar to. I'll bet that they shorten it up by 1/2" to allow for easy installation.
When I got my BX23S, I found that the cutting edge that bolts onto the bucket will need to be removed to use the tooth bar. I don't know if the manufacturers are allowing for this when they manufacture the teeth or not. You might want to ask. With the tooth bar on, you don't have to worry about wearing out the cutting edge that is factory welded onto the bucket. In the 800 hours that I put on the old machine, I didn't wear out the welded on cutting edge, and if I had, a replacement is / was available to weld onto the bucket. It was worn, but not excessively, and I rarely used the tooth bar.

I ordered a 64.5" bar from BXpanded. However, I did put in the order comments that my actual bucket measurement was 64 3/8".

I can understand wanting to get ahead of the wait time, but maybe waiting for your tractor might be best. But, that is up to you.

If you ordered a tooth bar that is 1/8" narrower than your bucket, that is quite tight. I would want a minimum of 1/4" if not a 1/2" of wiggle room. There is no advantage of having it that tight. If you should warp your bucket by hitting a rock, you will have difficulty removing or reinstalling your tooth bar.

It wasn't tight. After I drilled the holes and placed the toothbar on the bucket, I still had to pull the wings of the tooth bar in a ways when tightening the bolts. I think BXpanded, at least at the time I ordered, had a history of sending the tooth bars a bit on the short side, and I took that as gospel. It worked out correctly for me.

Another point of reference; My L2501 with 66"QA bucket was 64.25 (checked it many times)

Also, I just called BX and my order from the beginning of June will "likely" go into production the last week of July and ship for receipt somewhere in mid-August.

Mine also measured 64.25 with a tape measure pulled tight with my index finger. I left a note for BX likewise. I will add the current shipping turn-around time here when I know that.

Older thread so Update FYI

Been on since the day after I received it. It fit great and was an AWSOME addition for me. 100% no regrets
