New M6060 (1.5 hours on it) and the 1990 L/2550. I ordered block heaters for both on Friday. Cannot seem to find any install instructions and plug locations . I'll find them... And I guess I need to drain the coolant into a bucket first (to below the block plug point). then just pour it back in.

my question is do I need anything on the threads? some of the weak thread lock tight compound to seal it up and/or keep it in place.

I think when you receive the heaters you'll see the threades already have a Teflon coating on them. Nothing else to add.

Just a quick reply... both units arrived. an L and M series block heater. On 1 unit, the instructions tell you to knock out a freeze plug then gloop on the locktight/sealent, and then insert in place of the plug. I'ts about 1" long and will have threads for the block heater and element to thread into .

The other one had large threads and looks like I'll just unscrew a port on the block and thread this one in. Just thought I would mention this.

Have a cozy winter all!
