All,
I'm working on 1985 L4150.....unknown hours. Ran poorly, so that why I'm working on it. It's kinda a big job to do a compression test on it, but I did. It was a cold test though. I didn't have any cylinder under 380 nothing over 400.
I pulled the injectors and pump, sent them to a service shop. The injectors tested fine, but 2 of the 5 ports on the injection pump wouldn't build pressure. It's all fixed now to the tune of $635. I did ask the tech what the issue was. He said the seat on the (forgive me if I don't get the part name correct)fuel delivery valves were eroded.
I asked if it was water in fuel on contaminated fuel. No, just a lot of hours.
So the question....on average, what kind of hours does it take to erode the fuel delivery valve?
Thanks...Dan
