In need of mounted work lights

buying a new b2650. Are work lights best mounted on rops or rear fenders?
Any recommendation on brands, types, and where to buy?

WOW talk about an opened question,, and the answer is,,, where ever you feel they give you the most light for what your doing. Most people mount them on the ROPS either on the sides or on top, with DYI brackets or some lights come with factory brackets,, I have my forward facing driving lights (2) 55 watts mounted in a DYI bracket on the top of the ROPS for winter time off in the summer ,,,,,,,,tree limbs will clean them off in a heart beat,,, My light for the rear is a single 55 watt driving lamp, mounted to the bracket where the big old orange triangle use to go. Now thats just me, if you look through you will find all kinds of interesting set up's. I would recommend going with the LEDs yes they are more money but they are the cats arse when it come to lighting up your world. less drain on the electrical system and last dayum near forever. now days the LED type have come down in price quite a bit, you can get a four pack of lights that will light up half your county!

here is just one example :

for that price - you cannot beat the light or the amount (very little) on the system to light em up!

you decide how you wish to mount them - ROPS (underside) seems to work the best......a simple piece of aluminum angle will hold them well in place.

Agree with others. I have 2 flood facing back and 2 forward mounted similar to Hokie. Figure out where YOU need the light to be aimed then mount them to accomplish the task.

Ordered a light set from ropslights.com several months ago. Very pleased with them and they're a cinch to install. Not too cheap, but if you want well made lights, brackets and electrical connectors (and switch) and easy to install, they're hard to beat. They are made custom for the particular tractor you own. I mounted them on the rops right under my canopy. I had to do something because the FEL and bucket blocked most of the light provided by the front lights.

If you look on the left side or the ROPS you will see 2 black wire ties.

85Hokie, my question is: how did you fasten the aluminum tube/angle to the ROPS? And please clarify if it's angle, tube, or channel -- looks like it could be angle except the light on the left side doesn't seem to have mounting screws.

Just throwing it out there, but as a very cheap/easy light solution I have a half dozen of those magnetic Harbor Freight LED lights. When I need light (admittedly which isn't very often) I just stick them to either the front of the rops when using the FEL or the rear of the rops (if I'm using the hoe).

Now I wouldn't rely on them to stay put on bumpy ground, nor would they be a very robust/long term solution, but for the cost and ease, this works well for some of my me light duty work.

They could also be a nice way to test your mounting locations before drilling holes, etc.

I bought these LEDs floods (square ones). Mounted to the bracket that mounts the tractor canopy to the ROPS. Don't even bother turning on the headlights, these throw way more light out. Have one backward facing.

Got some of these also, mounted on ROPS, one forward and one reverse. Tapped into the rear light wire. If need be I still have 2 more ( got the 4 pack ) maybe one in front by the grill, running off of the stock headlight circuit. Last one will be a spare, in case of a wayward branch or failure of said light. Time will tell on the quality. So far, its like turning on the sun, with just one. Could not imagine 3 on at once. Ray Charles could see then.

I mounted mine on the PORs to prevent breakage by tree limbs. 2 trapezoides to the front and 2 floods to the rear on separate switches
