If user comfort is important for a larger person, I would look at the LX. I was trying to decide between the B2601 and LX2610 when I went to buy my tractor. I sat on both and the space for the operator was a better fit for me (6'-2' 250#) on the LX. I bought an LX3310 as the dealer had one in stock last spring vs ordering an LX2610. My LX is is very maneuverable around my property and I keep the size of the tractor in mind when I plant trees and do landscaping. Weight hasn't been an issue tearing up the grass with the R14 tires. I like the seat on the LX, very comfortable. I don't use the cruise control, my property is too hilly. I did order a MMM, but it hasn't come in yet. I am debating about a rear finish mower vs the MMM, as it would be easier to swap with my quick hitch that the 60" MMM. Used my LX3310 to landscape 3 acres around our new house, moved all the dirt, leveled with a tiller and landscape rake and spread the seed and fertilizer with a 3pt spreader. No concerns getting around the house and maneuvering. For what its worth, I have huge ruts from using a trailer and my 1/2 pickup to move the hot tub onto the patio and the LX hasn't left ruts when driving in the same new lawn areas.

Is one difference between B2601 (or 2301) vs. LX2610 the ROPS folding?

I've seen videos where the ROPS will fold about 45 degrees back on the LX vs. straight back on the B. Is this correct?

If the LX2610 rops is the same as the B2650 rops then it can swivel down past 90 degrees, but has a stop for the lock pin at around 45 degrees too.

Would that be regular probation or "double secret" probation? 🤔 🤫

Kehyler- I read your other thread on needs, curious as to why you want to use a tractor to spin a generator?
Well, because I was thinking that it would save ~1k off the generator cost to get one without a motor. I'm cost-sensitive on this deal.

I like both machines, the LX and the B2601. If I need to lift a heavier weight, yes the LX has more capacity.

But as far as mowing, snow removal and dirt work there is nothing a B2601 can't do. And it will save you some money to buy an implement.

Mine is the old version, but same as a B2601 and it has done lots. My pics may help you on a decision.

On other difference between the B and LX are the one set of lights. One set for both is in the fenders. The other light set on the B is outside the ROPS. The same set for the LX is inside the ROPS where it should be.

On my first tractor, I bashed a light mounted outside the ROPS. Cost a lot to replace. Moved them to inside the ROPS and have don the same on the next 2 tractors (all JDs, but planning on Kubota for next tractor). Put out an inquiry re moving those light sets on a B. No reply yet. Easy to do on JD.
