Good morning!

I'm the new owner of a L2502 and had a couple questions regarding implements. I just upgraded from an older Ford 1715.

I currently have a Land Pride RCR1548, 6' harrows, and a 5' landscape rake.

So here's my dilemma. I had my rotary cutter listed with my old tractor but the gentleman didn't need it.

So, will that cutter work with my new tractor or will I be kicking myself all the time wishing for a 5'? If so, which 5' should I consider?
OR, do I use the cutter I have and spend the money to find a 5' tiller instead of the harrows? Which tiller model?

Primary use of the tractor is hunting club maintenance and food plots.

It depends. The 48 inch will run fine behind your tractor but will not cover the tire tracks. It will leave a lot of windrows and will take longer. However if you have a little more time and need a tiller now it can wait.

I'm going to get a 6' flail, I have a 60" rotary now. But the rotary works fine so I haven't spent the money yet. I drag mine for a closer cut but it creates more windrows and is harder on the tractor.

That was my thought as well. Most of my mowing would (probably) be fine with the 48" but if I find a deal on a 60" I'll upgrade I think. The tiller would be for food plot prep this year and would replace the big 6' harrows I have. They worked just ok behind my old Ford, but I think this tractor would probably be underpowered with them too. I got bogged down a lot.

Check the driveline length. If it’s too short, I’d buy a 60” cutter and sell the 48”, rather than putting more money into the smaller implement.

Is your L2502 a gear drive or HST? Is there anything that your planting that would benefit a tiller over a disc?
All we have ever used is a disc for food plots any everything comes up fine depending on rainfall and birds eating the seeds.
I bought a tiller a few years ago but not planning on using it at our club, too many rocks and stumps.
I would suggest getting a 5’ bush hog to help with cutting road sides and such on a hunting property.

You should be good with the 5' bushhog. Some on here use a 6'-er with the L2501/2, probably lighter duty mowing.

A 48 won’t cover the rear tires, but I don’t know if that is a problem for you or not. My dealer recommended a 72 for my L2501. We are dryland, so the grass generally isn’t that thick where I live. Fwiw, the 72 was fine when I’ve used it.

HST.

Pretty much only food plots. I have a set of 6' harrows (countyline brand) that was all my old Ford 1715 could handle... BUT I haven't pulled them behind the new Kubota yet. I'm guessing the additional weight of the tractor and the FEL might make it easier to pull. The harrows bogged down bad behind my old tractor.

The majority of our work is mowing, so I'm leaning towards upgrading the cutter first.
