I don't have a FEL, but do have a box blade with scarifiers I can try before renting something. Thank you for all of the ideas and expertise!

Careful of your tires. That's the size of stump that likes to puncture them.

Yes, I've been worried about that. Didn't have a problem with my B7100 and it's new ag tires. Really regretting selling it and keeping this one. I've found some different tires I'm going to buy to get better traction around here.

Honey locust is also poisonous and toxic, so keep an eye on any injuries! ;)

The sap? I've never had any issues cutting and pulling it. I know the fruit of black locust is toxic, but the fruit from honey locust apparently isn't. I've seen people calling them "Bean trees".

I bet the box blade would do what you are looking for. I used mine with the rippers all the way down, and with a shortened top link. This allows you to rip roots until they fill up the rippers, then lift the box over the pile, and then push the pile backward with the blade. Because you are riding on the rear blade of the box, it will float over the dirt, and only push roots. This was my experience anyway. Every set of conditions calls for a little adjustment sometimes.
