I accidentally kicked my key and broke it off while re-boarding last month. I managed to get the piece out with some skinny needlenose pliers, took the two pieces to a local locksmith and he was able to cut me a new one for about $7. Gotta like guys who know their stuff!

when i bought my L1500, the ign key was a small pocket knife to turn
it on-off. the key hole had been enlarged somewhat with a screwdriver
and had sharp pointed barbs sticking out. u get the picture. after i
looked in the keyhole with a small flashlight, i could see the part that turned
and it had a dedent ball. a few minuits with a dremel grinder to clean up the hole, 5 min to make a key. the hole in the key is for the dedent ball
that holds the key in place. when u live out in the country, u leard to
play sherlock holmes and study things and fix things.

Thats a nice job there my dear watson! good idea, when I got my B7100 it was in the same condition except, any key-even my house key would work. I bit the bullet and replaced the switch, ouch. that hurt the wallet. wish I had thought of your iidea.

Good work Sir, kytim
