Lost count of how many times i've almost been sideswiped cause some fools looking at there phone. Daughter won't do it though. One of her friends ended up in intensive care at childrens hospital, texting and pulled out in front of a truck doing 60. She will smack the hell out of anyone doing it now

VOLKSWAGEN AD - VERY SHORT - MUST SEE

A Hong Kong movie theater asks its patrons to leave
their cellphones ON when they enter the movie.

Using that, Volkswagen made an eye opening ad...
More than 1.5 million hits in 3 days!

kinda scary that they got ALL the phone numbers in a milli-second then dialed them all - point taken.

I too see (mostly) younger driver texting - but why is IT ALL WAY A WOMAN IN THE PASSING LANE TALKING ON THE @#$%#$ PHONE, DOING 5 MPH UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT......ok - I vented, I feel better!:D:D

Do you think anyone will get the hint?
Hell NO, because people don't think it'll happen to them
Most of the young people I've seen are probably not bright enough to make the connection… they wouldn't get it at all.

I can tell you about it on a bike,, Headed up to Moms one day on the interstate, a car eased beside me and then started moving over to the right, I moved over slowing down, the car still moving over and now Im on the rumble strips, (screaming my head off well ,cussing foul nasty obscenities I should say), now Im on the freekin berm.. rumble strips seemed to wake her up, she pulled over and went on her merry way,,,, yup both her AND her passenger were texting,, one of those days I wasn't carrying,, most likely that was a good thing.

My drive to town is 9 kilometres. Bet i count 30 to 50 % are on phone or txting.
Only times i handle my cel is to turn off alarm or pass it to my wife to read/answer text. Phone calls via alpine stereo, bluetooth works awesome. Vibrate is off and volume is down, so usually i dont hear it ring. Now, as far as bikers thay carry go, they should be permitted to shoot the tire of a distracted driver. One young guy had to leave town, everybody had words for him after he almost killed a biker. He couldnt handle the emberassment.

I have often thought of getting a cell phone jammer and turning it on when I leave my house. The only problem is that they are illegal -BIG fine. But I am still tempted.

( Jamming Prohibition

The use of "cell jammers" or similar devices designed to intentionally block, jam, or interfere with authorized radio communications (signal blockers, GPS jammers, or text stoppers, etc.) is a violation of federal law. Also, it is unlawful to advertise, sell, distribute, or otherwise market these devices to consumers in the United States. These devices pose serious risks to critical public safety communications, and can prevent you and others from making 9-1-1 and other emergency calls. Jammers can also interfere with law enforcement communications. Operation of a jammer in the United States may subject you to substantial monetary penalties, seizure of the unlawful equipment, and criminal sanctions including imprisonment. )

( As The Tampa Tribune reports, Humphreys brought a cellphone jammer along on his commute every day for two years. You know, to ensure that his fellow commuters remained focused on the road. Until two local sheriff’s deputies caught him in the act and slapped him with $48,000 worth of fines, which he must pay or otherwise respond to within a month. )

During tropical storm fay in florida, we were getting on average 2" of rain an hour. Was going down an exit ramp off a toll road, and noticed some flashing blue lights. Then noticed head lights coming at me. Eased over to the side of the road as a car came around the corner right at me:eek::confused: girl was texting and driving. Missed her turn for the highway and drove up the exit ramp. I ended up clipping her car with the lug nuts on the front axle of the f550 service truck I was driving. Looked like someone took and industrial cheese grader to the corner panel of the car. Cop fined the living hell out her. Was nice enough to hold a light so i could see to pull the metal out of the rim. Inspect the brakes, and throw the spare on the truck. Girl was lucky the cop happened to be following her, or I would have hit her head on and probably have killed her. Truck weighed 18,500lbs plus the 6,000lbs i was towing. She was driving an old as hell ford festiva.
