Hi all,

After 20 hrs on a new LX I was tightening up the loader bolts (2 were hand loose) - and started tightening down another bolt that was hand loose. I realized it was not clamping down the side plate, but went into the tractor behind.

What is this bolt, and how tight should it be torqued to?

There is an identical bolt (reversed) on the opposite side.

Thanks!

Something looks wrong here... there should NEVER be a bolt which does not pull up tight.

It appears the bolt you are pointing to should NOT be tight. I wonder if perhaps some kind of 'spacer' should be in there to take the clamping-load. (or somthing is assembled wrong)

My thought was it might be a jack bolt used for adjustment of some sort and does not actually screw into the tractor.

Thanks - it would make sense as a hanger for when the loader is installed, I just wondered when I saw the casting behind it.

So, I still don’t know what the bolts were for, but after contacting the dealer for some other concerns they took it back and re-did the PDI. There were multiple things that needed to be corrected - including these two bolts that are now tightened down and snug to the main frame.

Hopefully all will be well going forward. Tractor is doing great.
Take care,

When the dealer was installing the loader brackets, they took out one bolt on each side that should not have been removed as the bolt the frame to the casting. After installing the loader brackets, they tried to install the bolts back into place, but the washer would not fit through the loader bracket hole.
Instead of removing the brackets, reinstalling, and torquing the bolts correctly, then reinstalling the brackets which they still had to do, they just left them incorrectly installed and delivered the tractor.

I believe you are correct. The service manager is the one who came out to pick up the tractor. There were multiple things that needed to be corrected, and he indicated they would be removing and reinstalling the loader in the process. Supposedly they have a new tech doing setups, and totally dropped the ball on QC/verifying he had done the setup correctly.

A disappointing situation, but they addressed it quickly and without hassle.
