It has been a long process for me. After all the big wood was cleaned up came the cleanup of the small stuff. Small limbs and sticks, and a boatload of pine needles. I had to gather everything into separate piles and load into the FEL take it to where I dump yard waste. WOW! I have quite the pile now. But it's done and today the FEL came off and I was finally able to mow the lawn. That BX is a life saver for me.

I feel for you. I've had the same thing happen before. Actually, picking up all the small limbs and pine needles was more arduous than the larger stuff.

I know it must be a good feeling to have it done! Good job. (y)

I cannot realistically believe I will ever be completely done with cleanup for entire property, 61 acres

Same issues for me in the spring. Got myself a 72" 3 PT pine straw rake. What used to take two weekends to do now takes 10 mins. No kidding. Best 400.00 buck I ever spent.

WOW! that is a very large area you have to clean. What kind of downed trees are you talking about, pines or hardwood? You could do what orchards and berry farms do and post a sign saying, Free firewood, you cut and clean. At the price of firewood these days, you may be surprised at the response you get

Was a mess after the storm we had in February. Still cleaning up after it. Have cut down 25-30 trees that snapped or came down during the storm or just thinning them out. Tons of limbs and debris. I was burning pine needles and debris but had so much I wasn't going to get it all burned in time and filled up. 30-yard dumpster with three tons of just pine needles and have a second 30-yard dumpster in the driveway right now.

Oh, and I did all that by hand with no tractor. Take delivery on a BX23S sometime next week.

Beautiful pics. Yes indeed, pine needles are a real pain in the neck for sure. Unlike dry leaves, they hold their weight and don't move as easily with a blower as do leaves. Ah, the pitfalls of living in the woods.;):giggle:

With the warm spell we have been having, I read the thread just to cool off!

Worked very well mentally, if nothing else...except that I am a natural born "sweater" so I avoided thinking about any work involved and just enjoyed the photos of ice and snow...
