Yep lots of ice EMS is going nuts last night and this morning. Trees down, power lines down, people trapped off the highway, heart attacks and medical emergencies are through the roof. I dont know what they pay these folks, but what ever it is,, ya know it aint enough!
I lost power for a few hours but its back and the fire is going. I havent been outside yet but what I can see from the house it looks like there will be some tractor work. So I think I will have another cup of coffee and look out the window some more, stay safe .

It rained y'day for many hours, then got real cold in a hurry.

Now it will snow for a total of 48hrs+, so currently, looking out the window, I have a gargantuan ice rink (driveway) covered with 1-3' of drifting snow.(more coming)

All told, we are supposed to get 55cm (2/3 a yard 1/2+meter-you pick) of drifting snow, on top of ice.

I am sure glad I put chains on the 'BX...even after some told me I'd never need them, I believe these are the exact conditions chains WILL be needed.....to snowblow deep drifted snow sitting directly on ice ice baby !

Just turning over now here in Western Mass.
People have had enough warning on this one, they should just stay home......as I type this from work.

I'm doing the same thing I did for the blizzard last week, puttering around the house and I'll deal with it tomorrow. It's still making nasty out there so no sense trying to clean up a mess that is still messing.

Two people at work in the PPG Place today. Me and another guy. No parking lot attendants either. Very little traffic. Not even a minor challenge for this hillbilly. I was there at 8 am left at 3. No problems. Good times!

Our schools are closed because they don't have power. It has been out for two days. My power never went out and I have a generator in case I need it. My wife slipped on the ice in the driveway yesterday and got a fat lip. I slipped and fell today, but managed to escape unscathed. They have already called a delayed opening for the schools tomorrow. I'm retired and my wife works for the school system so we don't have any reason to go out.

I snowblowed 55cm of snow on the weekend, with some drifts of 3-4' on top of a "skating rink." (driveway)
I think it's only because of tire chains it went so easily.

Ice ice baby!

man I feel for you, only troubles here are 'protestors' have shutdown the Detroit/Windsor bridge. The one that 25% of ALL trade comes through ,car plants will be shut down ,like the rest of 'Just in Time' places, so 100-150K without paychecks pretty soon.
Gas here is $1.66 per litre for the cheap stuff or diesel.... how is it down there ?

3 nor easters so far the last one was crazy ice. I tried to plow it with the back blade and loader and wish I would have left it. I just made a mess. NO power 3 weekends out of 4. More snow tonight. We have not had to plow for the last two years but really glad I chose to take the b2301 as a bird in the hand instead of chancing a wait until may or august for a 2601 or a l 2501 already have 14 snow plow hours since Jan 4th. This last Ice was the craziest thing I ever tried to plow put the back blade to float and it either stayed on top of the ice or took the ice with an inch of gravel stuck to it. but it was warm enough Friday and Saturday to sit outside
