im trying to my get my injection pump timing dead on , this what i have, b6100 with a swaped d950 i used the flywheel off the b6100

it has the marks are 1|fi 1|t 2|fi 2|T 3|fi 3|t my wsm saying it spill test has to show up at the 1|fi the spill test that was at the 1|t before i took all the sims out....NOW there no shims in it... its now showing up about 5 degrees after 1|FI

also im turning the motor in the right way, the crank shaft pulley is turning clockwise

wolfman help@!

It sounds like you might be doing the spill test wrong.

When turning the crank you stop when fluid first appears at the output of the pump with the throttle set to full.

When you put the flywheel on, did you hand thread the bolts all the way in before wrench tightening.

Timing is 25 degrees BTDC.

Did you change any gears under the front cover, or is it possible that someone else might have changed them?

when you come of top of the pump one number one......if your faceing the front of the motor im turing it clock wise.....

the it comes out of number one 5° Degrees past 1fi mark with no shims in it, wolfman you ever seen a d that had no shims in it?

flywheel was put at 44 ft

also never messed with the gears in the front of the motor

i CRANKed IT WITH NO SMIMS IT, it SMOKES LIKE HELL , I AM RUNNING A B6100 D650 FLYWHEEL ON MY D950 ENGINE, im going to to mactch up the flywheel 25 degree mark out of the club car vs the one on the b6100 on the tractor. also i did a inframe i put new rings an new rod berings in it....... it was still showing about 5 degrees off with no shims....

i have to be doing somthing wrong, if im facing the front of the engine, like im looking at the timing cover an crankshaft pulley it turns clock wise.....

Just bump the key switch & watch the fan.. THAT will tell u the correct engine rotation..
AND if the engine shuts off w/ the key switch, u HAVE TO REMOVE THE STOP SOLENOID..
otherwise your not in the "full fuel" position..
Do u KNOW for a FACT that the flywheels are the same.?? w/ the same exact markings.??
If not, your pizzing in the wind..
There was another member on here just acouple of weeks ago that had an engine w/ no shims under the pump..
He added till he got it "right".. maybe someone on here can lead u to it..??

The timing on a D650 is the exact same as a D950 so the flywheels will be the same, what second mark are you using on it to align to?

Pictures of what your dealing with will really help.

yes you have the rotation correct.

NIW asked about the flywheel because (if I recall correctly) the flywheel should only bolt on in one position but the bolt offset is very slight so it may be possible to force the bolts down with an impact wrench even if the flywheel is not correctly clocked.

Getting them started and screwed down completely by hand ensures that the flywheel is correctly installed.

Please re-red that post and answer that specific question- NIW was not asking about how much torque you put on them.

yea flywheel was put on good, by hand tighting then used a torque wrench

If you put the sims back in it it will retard the pump timing (delaying when it starts to inject(spill)) and taking them out advances it like it is now.
so put the shims back in it.

Yes the cam and crank gear timing can mess up the entire setup.

But if you didn't take off the front cover and remove gears, or no one else has, there is no way that could be wrong.

no i never pulled the timing cover off, is it is it possible to be a few teeth off an not line up.... also what about the ip could it be not firing right?

No the timing can't jump or be a few teeth off on it's own, it's impossible without some serious damage having been done.

It would take someone physically removing the gears and not lining them back up properly on reassembly.

Very very very rare that the pump could have an issue that would be affecting it in any adverse way as to change timing.

From the video it just looks like to me that you just need to reinstall the shims and retest, make sure you clean the stack of shims and both the pump and the block mating surfaces.

A V1200 won't fit... too long of an engine. ;)

Can not help with the discussion, but as far as the thread title, I think Wednesday is a good day for something to be manufactured.

Monday...workers recovering from the weekend.

Friday... Workers thinking about the weekend.

Tue...Wed...Thur...Workers at normal productivity levels...

I PLAN ON EXTENDING THE STEERING ROD, ALSO hydraulic lines.....

BACK TO MY TRACTOR, I THINK MY LIFT PUMP IS GOING OUT WOULD THAT CAUSE FUEL TO BE DELAYED?
No, not likely, it doesn't really work like that, there is a reservoir in the pump, it's not 100% demand driven.

this what i got wolfman, i think something going on with lift pump, it was maken a drag noise when it was push in... so i got a new electric pump, im try that make a another video
The pump needs to be a low pressure low flow pump. ;)
These engines are more of a gravity flow design.

The lift pump does not have any bearing on the issue of the timing.
