Anyone have a good mod for making these steps bigger / safer?

I'm a new Kubota BX23S owner. I'm enjoying getting things done around the land immensely. One issue I have is the step (on either side) going up to the backhoe operator's platform are quite small. The other day my big muddy boot slipped and I scraped my leg pretty good.

Hmmm. I have the BX25D and I don't think there's any real difference. I don't have a problem with mine, once I got the hang of it. Might just be a matter of getting the hang of it.

You could always weld on an extension of some kind.

It isn't the tractor, but the big muddy foot. Remove the mud from your boot or shoe and the problem should be solved.

My 77 has a pretty small step as well, however the solution has thus far evaded me.

I tried making an "sliding attachment" for the stabilizer cylinders once, but that ended in failure.

I am going to give it another try one day, but the projects are stacking up faster than my days off.

Come on Retirement!!!!!!!!

yes, bigger step is on my 'winter project' list , for the past 5 years....so hopefully THIS winter !!
trying to think of some 'clever' way a BOLT ON upgrade, like 2 long bolts, fender washers, expanded metal, plate of steel,OEM step, fender washer, lock washer,nuts.....type of solution....
Now IF only Mr. Sun would come out to play........

BTW 'retirement' is when everyone else comes around for you to do their 'little, easy' job, before you can do YOUR projects.

Speaking of small BH platforms, it would be nice to have a lock out on the control levers, as it seems they could accidently be activated while mounting or dismounting the Bh.

I reach the operator's levers and pull them one at a time to put the stabilizers down when I am not on the machine.

Why?

Why, oh why, oh WHY do small business owners insist on creating their own web sites?????

Even if you have to pay a couple of grand, it's WELL WORTH it to have a decent website!!!!!

And a GMAIL ADDRESS?!??!!? BUSH LEAGUE AND STUPID!!!!!

(ALL web hosting includes domain name registration and virtually all web hosting services include email services as part of the package!!!!)

Bush league.

<sigh>

Added extra steps to stabilizer cylinder rod guards on B26. Wider and higher pads, so helps this ole man climb up and down. Hope yours has an ample hand grab bar around the controls.
