Around here, when the grass is growing right, a lot of guys will do it at a rate of 2 to 1 in lou of cash payment

Actually, according to MSU's custom harvest rates, it's a 60-40 split. I don't do that, with me it's either owned ground or leased (long term) ground.

This year, forage bales will be tough to come by around here.

Grass is basically worthless here. Must be a blend of grass and alfalfa at least 30% alfalfa.
