Weatherman claiming any minute now. Hulk sad.
Not a good time to have a pinched nerve in back, walking on slippery stuff. Walking is painful enough. Still trying to get my work done, not going so well.
My youngest drove 20 miles to work, hope she gets home before it gets crappy. Zero winter driving experience.

Just looking outside-raindrops are slowing down and looking a little less runny. Like slush falling. Bad for power lines.

I am in southern west Virginia and it was sunny and 70 today has been for the last few days. I know we are on borrowed time right now not looking forward to the white stuff flying.

Well, it did almost hit freezing last night...

However it's a balmy 70° outside right now. Don't think we'll be seeing any of that whitish stuff this year, maybe a ton of rain... (I hope!)

We were white a couple weeks ago for a bit in the morning.

73 today.

NOAA says warmer in the east, and wetter in the west this winter. Hope they're right. Last couple been tough!!

Chains are on, the snowblower is ready to go on after the FEL comes off - hopefully that happens sometime in February:p:p:p:p

No snow here yet. Has been getting cool at night with it in the hi 30's to low 40'. Had to order the proper chimney brush to clean the chimney. Need a 12x16" brush. Which of course no one in town has one. Been using an 8" brush but it's not working very well. Got sick of fighting it. I did get the wood rack filled up, and the fireplace insert cleaned out.

Now I'm hunting for a spark arrestor for the chimney. Chimney is a smooth top, with nothing to clamp the normal store bought spark arrestors too. The current one slips down into the top of the chimney and is rusted out. So, I have a bunch of rust splatters down the side of the house and on the shingles. May have to drill and tap con some pieces of 1/4" angle iron or square stock to the top of the chimney to make a standard one work  Then I can clean the roof and siding with some clr.

Daren, make something out of stainless to replicate the one rusted out. Then your rust problem will stop, and it'll last longer, easier to clean creosote off.

12 days since this thread started.had a bit of snow last week. Didnt stay. Yesterday i was repairing a lawn tractor, had to test it. Latest ever, nov 16 cutting grass. Two years ago we had a foot of snow by now. And it was -20. Today was 9 celcius. But rain.everything is saturated. Did a little scrape on my driveway, hoping to fill holes. Nope. Ruts now.

I usually end up hitting mine the last time around mid December to xmas :p The Bermuda grass is taking over the walkway again, so I'll have to weed eat this weekend. Might get around to cutting it again as well. Haven't had to touch the yard for 8 weeks. But some stuff is starting to get unruly. Plus it's about time to chop leaves. Bota is starting to feel neglected

Usually i have plow on by now, like river should be starting to freeze over. This is way away from normal. Plants flowering. Very unusual.

Saving in heating expenses. Thats a bonus. Today it goes from above freezing to minus double digits and rain turning to snow. 50 mph wind so sideways snow.

Power did go out for about 4 hours, I was debating getting my genset going.

Fuel in the truck would have been a great idea as well, cause the power was out at the local station. I don't like travelling on crappy highways without a full tank.

I live about a half hour from the city so I have to commute beveryday.
