I got a B6000, repair questions.

Hey guys , I got my first Kubota, a B6000 4wd with front end loader, LOVE this tractror I got a few questions about it. The guy I bought it from said he put a new clutch in not long ago, but when I push in the clutch pedal in, it makes a whinning noise, is that normal? also, on cold starts, I find it hard to start, I have to shoot some starting fluid near the intake to get it started, what am I looking for to rectify these issues.

First - prepare to be berated for the use of ether....by others....

There is a method to use glow plugs to get it fired off when "cold".

There is usually a key position or starter switch position to hold for 15 to 30 seconds and then start cranking.

Also there is usually a compression release know that will let the engine spin easier.

The method is something like:
Turn key on or to glow plug position.
Or turn starter switch to glow plug position if that is you tractor's method.
Hold for 15 to 30 seconds.
Pull out decompression knob.
Turn to starter position
Get engine spinning for 2-3 seconds.
Get compression on engine (push knob in).
Stop cranking if not started in 5 to 15 seconds.
Wait for starter to cool off for about a minute or so before repeating.
If it does not start after 1 or 2 attempts - let the starter cool off for a while.

The whining noise is probably the throw out bearing. Maybe they didn't change it when they changed the clutch. You could try a linkage adjustment if something doesn't seem right but if that doesn't quiet it down then its probably time to split the tractor.

thanks for the reply, after doing some research I noticed my tractor has a trow out bearing shaft with a greese nipple on it. I will try greasing it first.
