Got a hole in a hydraulic hose. Not far from the house, drove to the shop. Went to town got line & replaced. Took the hyd fill cap off went in the shop to get hydro fluid & wife called me for dinner. After dinner we had a heavy rain storm for 30 min. That’s when I realized I left the cap off. Tractor hasn’t been started so I’m thinking take out the drain plugs & let it finish draining. Pour some cheap sacrificial hyd fluid in with drains still out. Let that drain then fill with super UDT. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

That would probably work. However, I am not sure if there is a more convenient way to remedy your problem. I am also not sure what cheap fluid would be compatible with Kubota fluid. You could always flush with UDT then fill with UDT2. I thought I read Super UDT isn't made anymore.
If you do that, you should probably change your filter as well.

you ould save some time by having the 'dinner maker. go to town to pickup the UDT while you drain the tractor.......

Any water 'should' be in the sump and none in filter as you haven't run it. If it was easy, I'd crack open the drain plug,see if water comes out. when pure oil, tighten up and fill up. Did that proceedure everyday to remove water from gastanks in planes..5 decades ago.
better safe than sorry though... drain all,swap filter, place used oil into clear jug, place on solid bench, see IF it separates in a week. Top oil will be fine....

You probably get more water in the hydraulics from condensation plus the filler opening is rather small, so I doubt that you have a significant amount of water. You can crack the drain plug but I doubt that you will see anything.
I agree with Magicman. That opening is what.... an inch in diameter? And it's location, isn't it in the back behind the seat and you need a funnel to get fluid in it. Go use the tractor for some hard work for an hour and the moisture will be evaporated.
No matter what you choose to do to get the worst of the water out of the system.... It may be a good idea to work the tractor HARD and HOT for several hours to boil off any residual moisture.... Also change the Hydro filters which should catch moisture.
It might be worthwhile to investigate the Dry Hydraulics H20 absorbing product or a similar water absorbing product.

My rain gauge is best described as a one-inch-diameter test-tube. On the most vicious rainstorm in memory it only registered 3 inches of water (less than two ounces).
Crack the drain to see if any water drips out... but not likely to see much.
Quit worrying about this and use your tractor.
