I used a bigger batter to start my 2010 Kubota RTV 900. It turned a few times then it stopped. I don’t hear the click in the starter.

It was late in the evening and I was too flustered to start troubleshooting.

Any suggestions where to start or what might have blown?

thanks y’all
Ray

I can't imagine why you would do any damage because of a larger capacity battery (assuming you didn't reverse polarity).

bigger battery actually not good ?
safety switch got moved ?
heavy load killed the battery ?
not in neutral ?

without the wiring diagram very hard to 'remote diagnose' !

Take some photos of the top of your battery and also where the ground cable connects to the chassis.
Post them here.
A 13 year old machine will have some poor connections to the battery or frame.
Unless you connected the booster cables reversed, the bigger battery will have done nothing.

Ray - - lots of smart guys here. I agree with ctfjr and Jay also.

Dave_eng is great at electrical stuff.

Trust me, do what he suggests..I've seen him solve many electrical problems.:)

May look near the starter. Kubota likes to put a fuse, or fusable link near the starter. It will blow from cranking a bunch, and the fusible links get weak with heat cycles and age. The fusible links look like a connector with a jumper. The jumper is a special wire with a resistance that melts/breaks with over amperage, or wear. The fuse is just a push in high amp fuse.(40-50amp)

I'll tell you where the fuse panel is but I charge $200/hr shop rate. I charge $300/hr to teach you how to test fuses using a multimeter.

Cash up front.

Bigger battery but still 12 volt? Or are we talking about a forklift bigger battery? Did you swap batteries or use jumper cables?

Also I have seen a shorted battery discharge a good bigger battery quicker than a vehicle will start. So if you only jumped the RTV try to swap the batteries. It does not have to fit in the space just pay attention to the polarity of the battery, even backwards for a second get VERY expensive.

Thank to everyone for the suggestions and ideas! Turns out the ground just needed a little bit of cleaning. It’s nice having this community of kubota owner sharing their knowledge online!
God bless!

Glad it turned out to be simple.
If the battery end of the cables looks like his type;
battery cable repair end.jpg

Consider replacing it as they will fail at the worst possible time.
