For too long my hydraulic digger motor sat on a crumbling pallet, so I decided to make a proper stand for it.

I am not gifted with great woodworking skill but this is what I managed to put together...

It holds the frame level so I can get my quick couplers up under it easily enough. The platform fits between the plate steel uprights so it is self-locating, at least left-to-right. The little platform for the motor mount works really well. The base is basically a tough pallet that I can easily get my forks in, and especially underneath the motor as it's heavy on that one side. The 4x4 + 2x6 created lots of clearance for forks.

I need a way to keep it from tipping forward. Maybe a hook in the middle coming from the back, idk. In the photo below you can also see the dolly I made for my flail mower.

Neatly tucked away on the shelf.

Has anyone else created storage racks like this?

That seems kind of precariously perched. I would put that on the floor. I have young children around and always ask myself what's the worst that could happen (lots). The stand looks very nicely built.

Those racks are nice, and sturdy looking. They look like Costco racks, not the ones they sell but use!!🤔

Shelving shown is very similar to that at Home Depot, and other big box stores.
Children sometimes run wild in those stores, with no obvious adverse consequences.

I would love racks like that. We use them in my industry in the warehouses but the 4' deep ones BTB.
Did you find them used and reasonably priced?

The racks are called Pallet Racks and yes, they are a small version of what Costco uses! I did not find them for a reasonable price but I bought them anyway from Uline. If you don't know about Uline, it's absolutely amazing. These racks are rated for 5000 pounds per shelf. The racks are bolted into the concrete and leashed to an I-beam behind that metal wall, it's as stable as I can figure out how to make it. There aren't any children running around here, anymore. :)
