While switching topics within the forum, I have gotten twice in the last few days a "I am not a robot" black page with a check box. I have decided to "be a robot", not check the box and close the browser. After restarting the browser the page does not come back. Has anybody else seen this?

I am not a robet and captchas are common

If it asks you to ALLOW something you got a problem.

Are you sure, I mean really sure you are not actually a robot?😉

How would any of us know? How would you prove you are not?😉

I am getting the same error. I think this site has a virus. No other site I visit is this occurring.

I have not had any pop ups or request to confirm I'm not a robot.

Why is there not an option for robots and A.I. to self-identify? Are we condemning the technology we've designed to help us? If so aren't we condemning ourselves?

It's very likely one of these:

Robot verification and Recaptcha is most commonly caused due to a VPN or proxy being used while trying to load pages on a web browser. This has happened to me too. To get rid of robot verification all you have to do is turn off your VPN or proxy and only turn it on when you know you absolutely need it.

You have a malware issue

You could have another program that is causing it to happen.

It could be ad related.

He could be a Nigerian prince or a Russian girl friend...
I believe that he is the Russian girlfriend of the Nigerian Prince!

The site does not have a virus!
How can you be certain? When I attempted to pay my local town tax on their website, I got a pop-up that there was a virus on the website. I notified the town and they denied that there was a virus, but when I attempted to pay my taxes the next day, the website was "down for maintenance" for 24 hours. A virus can be embedded into a file or picture that is posted on the website.

Yes, a virus can be embedded into a file or picture posted on a website, using a technique called steganography, which allows malicious code to be hidden within seemingly normal images or documents, making it difficult to detect by traditional security measures; however, simply viewing the image on a website usually won't trigger the virus, and additional interaction like downloading or clicking on a specific part of the image might be needed to activate the malicious code.
  • How it works:
The malicious code is embedded within the image's pixel data, altering the image slightly but not noticeably to the naked eye.

  • Potential dangers:
When a user downloads and opens the infected image, the hidden code can be extracted and executed on their system, leading to various malware activities like data theft, system disruption, or further infections.

  • Detection challenges:
Antivirus software may not always detect steganography-embedded malware, especially if the technique is well-executed.

How can you be certain?
Because I have top of the stack virus protection that tells me. ;)
Added to the fact that it's only happening to a couple people and not thousands.
