Well today was oil day, nope never happend. I figured I would warm the B up ( and I am really starting to not like that tractor) and run the grapple some and keep getting rid of the bamboo. So I knocked some down grabbed it up and off to the burn pile. and then its WTF moment. The leg for the EFL stand is hanging twisting in the wind. Back to the garage, the stand is twisted like a pretzel,, naughty words go here,,,,,,,
Nuts missing bolts bent leg bent nothing lines up. SO I get it apart and with due diligence get things almost flat and straight, well mostly anyways. Now I start to see what happend on the FEL QH.
I dont know if Tommy Nocamoria ever saw one before he designed this thing or what. Now I have to make the assumption this was put together before delivery, so I will leave my thoughts out about that for now. The release for the legs has to be one of the poorest POS I have ever seen put onthe market. Everything hangs up even following the BOOK, yes I read it through several times. Who in the name of John Paul Jones uses 1/4 inch bolts 3 inches long to secure something that is 3 inches away, who does not install lock washers or at least lock nuts where thing move and not have a washer between them. Maybe this POS was built on Friday the 13th at 1600 I dont know. I just know if this is anything what KUBOTA is turning into this is my last.

And I really dont want to start on the underpowered 26 hp tractor, the BX has more gut than this thing. If someone would come along with the right money it would be gone tomorrow.
OK Im done,,, for now

Sorry for your distress.

I just had a good belly laugh though. Not sure why. I have a B and BX and they are not the same by any means...but you do too...

But I do not have a grapple and my loader on the B2910 never comes off anymore.

I hope you get over this quickly.

All the best from a south western PA OTT buddy!

Edit: The buddy comment was an assumption, but I hope not in error...

Skeets - - sorry about your bad day....hang in there, my friend.

Sometimes it's just better to walk away for a while.

If coal country were closer, you know I'd be there to help....It bothers me I can't help you from here.

That B2601 tractor is exactly the one I've hoped for to replace my own BX2360.

I'm sorry it's given you some issues.

Now, if you'd pay me 50 bucks to take it off your hands....plus mileage....oh, and your vehicle's warranty may be up besides....;) :giggle:

I give it 50/50 odds if you posted it on FB Marketplace or craigslist for around what you purchased it for that someone would come buy it off you because of lead times on new right now.

Sorry it’s more pain than pleasure with your B. If you want to sell it you might need to work on your marketing material. 😉

OHHHH hell you guys are too much :) Today was just one of those if I dont whine about it days Im going to explode, maybe it was low blood sugar or something. I kind of wish Pap was still around, he was one of those kinds of guys that could do things in his head before he started and it always seemed to work out. To bad I didnt inherit that from him, I'll get it all figured out. Thanks for listening and Im happy somebody got a little giggle out of it,, if it wasnt me, I guess I would have giggled too

Ya know Skeets, like your Pap, my grandpa was the mechanic in our family. He passed 30+ years ago.

My dad not much, and he admits it.

Patience is what my dad lacks. Always has.

I have much more patience, and am pretty okay with mechanics.

I’m just not smart enough to fix modern vehicles like Fordtech does everyday.

This is why I didnt get swift tach on the LX after seeing how hookey it was on the B2601. Glad you got it sorted out. It is a janky set up.

I thought the LA534 and LA535 were pretty much the same FEL, so what am I missing? I was trying to picture the parts that Skeets was referring to, and why they might have come loose. My stands on my LA535 are held in their storage position with a pin on the swing end, and a stud on the loose end. The loose end has hairpins to keep the stand from dropping down. I'm not fond of hairpins but haven't spent the time yet to come up with a different game plan for the stands. I'd prefer lynch pins, but Kubota didn't ask my opinion, and the hanger stud isn't large enough to drill out for them.

My only complaint about the LA535 was the main pins up on the mounting supports, but even that was addressed by Kubota. Seems they shipped some of the LA535's out (mine included) with the wrong pins. A grommet in the latch hole fixes that, but I'd still rather have the correct pin designed for the loader subframe.

I'm an electrical engineer, but I love tinkering with things mechanical. Send some pics, Skeets. Hopefully you had some before/after shots of what happened. I'm still trying to connect the dots on what happened, but maybe your stand are completely different from my LA535.

Oh, and BTW, ROLL TIDE!!!

Skeets, you don't have to have a preconceived idea of how to fix something, that's why folks made vices, hammers, measuring sticks and paint! Just clamp and pound and all your frustrations go away.

Cat that is just what I did,, but I think if I could have found some heat it might have gone a little better. Old Paint Really it is a couple things. They use what looks like 1/4 inch bolts maybe 3 inches long that latch the support legs in place, and the latches hook right at the end of the bolt. All I can think is somehow I hooked the leg in some bamboo and it twisted that little bolt off the leg dropped and well backing up it acted like a plow,, not a good thing for soft steel, and twisted it up. And the leg is held to the loader arm on a shaft which doesnt have any kind of keeper just a snap ring to hold another piece on the shaft. In MHO it is a poor system, others I am sure have no problem but I have since day one with the QH. Nuts that should have lock dont and are missing, others hell they were finger tight. I guess it is my fault I never went over it, I just ook their word that everything was A OK, and now I have to fix their lack of detail. Ahh well this too shall pass just one little bump.. lol

Well, I may have to turn in my man card for a while. I reached a point of total frustration with the stand legs,, and I stopped inthe stealer and asked,,,, A young man they called TJ came out we chapped a bit and the parts guy printed up a drawing, and with that He showed me where and how to adjust so the legs raise up about the latches so they release. At the front of the FEL loader there is a 14 mm nut that holds a plate that swings off the pivot shaft,,, Yup loosen it slide it out just a schoose bit and lo and behold the plate slides out tighten the nut and,,, yup you guessed it the dayum thing works. I kind of figured there was some kind of adjustment I just couldnt figure out where and what it was.

Glad you got it working. Some things aren’t obvious until someone shows you one time. That’s how it works for me anyway.

Skeets don't' be too hard on yourself. Sometimes the simplest things can be a challenge, and then once you "see" it you can't believe it is the way it is!!
