Hydro fluid change

My M is coming up on 400 hrs and was getting ready to purchase the necessaries for fluid change.
I was just looking through the manual and it says 600 hrs between changes.
Have they altered the hours or what?
The manual is dated from 2008 if that makes a difference as my machine is a 2010.

On both my M9000's it listed first change @50 hrs.

Change filters @300 hrs.

Then full service again @600 hrs.

My L3000 was first @50 hrs

Full service @400 hrs.

If your hydro fluid hasn’t been changed in almost 10 years it’s a good idea to do so

Mine will be due in another 80 hours at 800 hours every 400. Just did the engine oil which I do every year.

I bought the machine used 2 years ago with about 1100 hrs and did a full service at that time.
It now has close to 1400 hrs.

I did the full hydro and front axle at 50 hours on my B2650. It looked like light grey metallic paint, I am glad I did it.

Just picked up all the filters needed, $257.64 and Kubota wants over $95.00 for a 18.6 liter pail of UDT. Glad this only comes around every 400 hrs.

Yep, it hurts when we checkout at the parts counter, but it doesn't seem to bother folks when they purchase pizza, beer, cookies, ice cream and various other goodies on a regular basis!

If folks kept a 3x5 card in their pocket and wrote down every penny they spent throughout the day, they'd be amazed at the total at the end of the month. But then few folks have an idea of what a budget is.

Kind of reminds me of a guy I worked with. He gave me all kinds of crap because I gave $400 for a pair of boots.
"I gave $60 for these at Walmart" he said. Next month it was another $60. In total he bought a pair of those $60 boots every month because they were junk. I asked him one day how he was saving any money buying those boots because he had spent $720 in a year compared to my $400. He still said I was crazy and that he'd never pay that much for boots. He for sure was not a big picture guy to say the least.

On top of that mine lasted 7 years and he still was buying junk from Walmart and would never admit mine were cheaper.

It depends on your tractor/model.

On my B2650 it wanted it at 400hrs.

That was my first thought.

Owning a machine shop and doing machining of all types in various materials and assemblies, I can tell anyone that, no matter how carefully you clean an assembly that has been machined, there will always be some residual machining swarf inside unless each and every casting and assembly is ultrasonically cleaned and inspected prior to assembly and I don't believe Kubota is doing that so, at least in my view, the initial fluid change, asap or 50 operating hours is important and I stick to that myself.

There will always be some machining swarf inside and yes, the fliter (s) should trap it but in my opinion, why chance it. Besides, I run my tractors long term so changing the fluid and filters I consider that to be a consumable item.

Now, if you were me, it would be almost 6 pails of fluid for a change. 3 pails per unit, 4 filters too.

I've priced (for kicks and grins) my dealer pricing on genuine Kubota filters (engine oil, hydraulic, fuel and air) and they are within a few pennies of the 'other brand' (Baldwin and WIX).

Flip, according to the manual, your M9's have a 600 hr interval on hydro fluid change too.
Do you change it then or at 400?

That was my first thought.

My 2 L series and my MX series all say every 400 hours for fluid replacement, I also consider the number of years and will not go past 5 or 6 years without changing the fluid, irrespective of the number of hours on the tractor.

I wonder why Kubota has different hours for different tractor series, any thoughts?
