Hi, the hydraulic pump on my u27 excavator is vibrating excessively and shaking the cab. Also the hydraulics appear to be moving slower than they used to. It's only 2 years old with less than 200 hours on it. Is there a chance one of the filters has got plugged? I have noticed that when I extend the boom I get a a whistling sound through the hydraulics.

I've checked the hydraulic oil level it looks good and it is clear.

Of course my warranty just expired, So any advice would be appreciated.

Just for the record, I have 0 experience with that model.

However; I would start of with the “basics” by dropping the filter(s) and inspecting it/them (you may have to carefully cut it/them apart to inspect it/them)

Having a new filter(s) “at the ready” would be advisable as well. (y)

EDIT: Cool mini-Ex though (y) (y) (y) (y)

Does that shaking occur at all engine rpms? And does it only happen when you are moving the digging controls or just when in travel mode?

I do have the WSM for your machine. However, its about 100MB pdf file. Let me know if you need one by PM and I'll find a way to get it to you.

Thanks, that would be great. I did have one for my U25 and was very useful

The vibration varies by RPM, nothing seems loose, but it seems to vibrate way more than my old open ROPS U25.

It's bad in all modes, whatever I'm doing.

Maybe having the cab is amplifying the vibration?

I guess I need to find another U27 and compare them....

No idea about your particular machine, but from the description I'd be wondering about cavitation or air entrainment, like some problem with the suction line. Depending on whether suction line/s are hard pipe or hose. Kink or partial blockage of suction line, or crack in it, suction pickup damaged inside the tank, anyone done anything to any pipes, did it come on suddenly or slowly. What if anything preceded it, any mods or other disturbance. If flexible suction line sometimes the lining can come away like from faulty assembly of hose fitting and cause havoc downstream.

In addition to the above suggestions.

If this is due to an air leak, would there be clues in the oil tank? would the oil be cloudy or airated?
