Has anyone ever heard of this happening? The other day as I was checking the hydraulic oil on my B3200.
I removed the dipstick , oil came rushing out, it came out just like a water drinking fountain, quickly I reinserted the dipstick.

I started the tractor let it warm up for 5 minutes, cycled everything, the loader, backhoe, and outriggers several times, turned it off and let
it settle down for a few minutes, rechecked the hydraulic oil
again, same thing happened now I have two oil spots on the concrete floor.

I called both the dealer and the factory rep, they both tried to help as much as they could, said to cycle
everything as there is probably air in the lines and that may remove it and to call them back.

So out back again and try to cycle everything again only longer, but the same thing occurred a third time.

Now I needed a rest, so over to the T.V. chair and a cup of hot coffee, that’s when “the brain Fa#@.” Hit me,

Why not check the oil fill hole? I said to myself ,I ran outside and pried off the rubber cap, and I heard a hissing sound, like a vacuum being released
, something like opening a sealed can of coffee. I knew then
and there that vacuum was causing the oil surge, I was right , when I checked the oil again it was Normal,
just like nothing has happened, everything was OK.

So my question is ,what is going on? what caused this ? By the way, It happened again this morning

,but my being a wise old buzzard I knew just what to do this time, How do I prevent it from happening again?

Looks like you were over looked and nobody has seen this yet, so I thought I'd mention something to put you question back to the top of the post's in hopes someone might see it and shed some light on your problem.

Hello Everyone;
Dusty you were right about the vent,I called the factory rep and he told me where it's at, even with his help it took me 5 minutes to find it. It's well hidden. It's a rubber hose that is shaped like a the letter "J", about 4 inches long, and about 6 inches in front of the xmission filler hole facing forward, and under the seat,I had to turn the seat around to face the backhoe,. Anyway it was plugged up and with guess what? No it wasn't dirt, nope not grease, not even grass,But get this "DIRT DOBBERS", thats what my wife calls them,I dont know any other name for. They took up residence in the vent hose and could have caused me all kinds of problems, had somebody not told me what to look for. Thanks again and give yourself a raise, if your boss wants to know why, just have him call me.

dirt dobbers/mud dobbers, common name and a REAL problem at my place. I have a small pond in my front yard. All water hose ends must be covered. I have to keep radio controlled airplane engines covered with baggies, they're in the house garage. I hate them but they keep the spider population down which I hate worse. Nothing worse than walking through the garage door in the am half asleep and getting a full spider web in your face.

Good day,

I am a new member and had found this old post and just wanted to thank Tommyp for the post and dusty-t for the problem solution.

I had a ongoing problem for the last few months with the hyd fluid level.
When I checked it on my 2009 B3200 it would vary. some days perfect, some days low, and some days a little high???? Never a leak anywhere.

During last bad snow noticed Hyd fluid leaking under tractor and traced back to dip stick tube, cleaned off all fluid under tractor and wrapped a paper towel around tube and sure enough towel was soaked after a hour. I had heard the same coffee can opening sound the day before when I open the filler hole and thought????.

After reading this old post I found that the J tube and vent were full of dirt!
I had no idea that it even was there. After cleaning out, PROBLEM SOLVED !!

Just wanted to say thanks and looking forward to learning more.
