Got the hydraulic oil drained( it looks lighter in color than any oil I've seen) Am going to let it set and see what happens Removed the mesh screen filter from the lower trans case and cleaned it with kerosene Should you be able to see thru it when done? Got to get new O rings for the filter also Have a good day all

Hydraulic oil doesn't pick up combustion debris like engine oil so appears to be just fine.

Unfortunately, many of the additives break down over time and use so the hydraulic oil essentially "wears out". Just looking at it doesn't tell the story.

You could always have a UOA (Used Oil Analysis) done to see what's up.

Most hyd oil is honey colored or some variation of that.

Like GWD said, if you're concerned about the oil have a oil analysis done. You can't tell everything about wear level from one analysis but it will give you a base line for future reference.
