I have exhausted my personal resources and need help. I have a B2910 tractor. I bought it 2 years ago. Tractor has about 1700 hours. Previous owner kept tractor very neat clean and updated maintenance. Here is my problem.
About 3 out of 10 times when I start the tractor and allow for warm up the hydraulics (fel, and 3 point and power steering) will not work. I have to turn steering wheel of just start moving tractor and after about 30-45 seconds it will work well. It stays working as long as tractor is running. I can turn off tractor for 10 minutes after using for an hour or more and it will do it again. It's not all the time.
Fluid is level and clean. I haven't changed fluid since I've had it but oil filters look pretty new and fluid is clean looking. My next step is to change fluid and filters and internal screen.
It feels like it's losing prime. Can't find a leak in the hoses or lines. No leak

What's next. Your time is appreciated.

From what I have read on previous posts it's not the filters. They say if the internal filter is clogged the tractor will work well at first then sputter or slow down.
I just don't want to change oil for nothing.

The system is composed of a 2 section pump so the chance is that it's the pump is low.
There is no internal suction screen for the main hydraulic system just an external spin on (right side), only on the HST suction is the screen and there is also a spin on filter (left side) for it too, so 2 spin on filters.

It sounds like it has a suction leak (might not leak externally) on either the line, fittings, filter, or at or in the pump.
Or there is some thing blocking the suction line.

Idaho. Thank you for your time. I guess the screen I was talking about is for the hst. It is on the left side and looks to be about 6" long that is supposed to be taken out with a bolt and cleaned in kerosene.
I can't find a leak. I agree it sounds like an air leak. But where? How do I find it?
I will add that the engine is clean however the pump looks a little wet. It has a sticky dust coating on it. Should I change the fluid? Do you think that will work?

Just replacing the fluid won't do it.
Drain it, remove the suction line, replace the O-ring, Hose, and filter, refill with UDT or SUDT2.
If it still does it, remove the pump and either rebuild it yourself or send it to be rebuilt.
