I have a relatively new [2007 with 150 hours] L3400. My hydraulics have stopped working.they only move up a small bit.and I can hear the engine rpm slow a bit as it is struggling. My fluid is topped up with Kubota UDT. Isn't it too soon to have to change the hydraulic filter and screen? What kind of tests can I run to discern the problem?

What hydraulics are you talking about? Loader, hitch, steering or HST?

Make sure your fluid is topped off, then check to see if there is a small rod connected to the hitch arm. This is the feedback rod. With the hitch at the top the hitch arms should have up to an inch of freeplay. You cant check it if it isnt going up, but this rod is what controls the hitch valve shutting off at the top of the stroke. If it is adjusted incorrectly the hitch may not work. Make sure your speed knob is opened completely, located under the seat, between your legs.
