A bango fittings on my hydraulic outlet block are leaking. L3600DT with a 680 loader.
I removed the old crush washers and install new ones; tightened it and the joint leaked. So I torqued it a little more and snapped the bolt.

Any tips on making this type of banjo joint work?
What is max Torque for the banjo bolts (66591-36250)?

I am removing the old bolt and will use all new components.

thanks

I am not saying to do this, but if you heat a copper piece to red hot and let cool it will soften and anneal it.

Banjo bolts ate pretty thin by virtue of the through holes. Tjey should sealnwith rflatively low torque.

I would suggest inspecting the sealung surface on the block. It needs to be flat and smooth. I would also suggest using a sealing washer with bonded elastomeric seal.

Dan, appreciate the link for the seals. I have a banjo bolt on the IP of my Deutz that has TWO banjos on the same bolt and at the end of the bolt it is threaded and has a plug that goes in. In the center of the bolt is also a small spring (like in an old ink pen) and a tapered pin about 1/16" in dia. The purpose is to open the very end to bleed the pump.

I over tightened that little burger and broke the end plug off in the bolt which is a brass! Finding the new bolt was a project. If it presents any leaks I will order some of those seals. Thanks again.

Your local Parker store probably has those washers on the shelf. Probably going to want more than a buck each....

Thanks for your input; found a crack in the braze where the line goes into the ring. I have gained some very good experience with Kubota hydraulics (at least on the L3600) thanks to some here on the forum.

THANKS!
